Rebecca Newgent, associate professor of counselor education at the University of Arkansas, has accepted an invitation to serve on the editorial board of a new journal of the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education, a division of the American Counseling Association and Sage Publications.
The Counseling Outcome Research and Evaluation Journal will focus on counseling outcome research, outcome-based diagnostic practices, outcome-based program evaluation, outcome measure reviews and outcome research design.
The Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education is the research arm of the American Counseling Association.
Newgent focuses on peer victimization in her research and is currently working with six schools in Springdale. She is taking an off-campus duty assignment this semester to prepare a series of manuscripts using the data she has collected over the past 4 1/2 years on the factors that contribute to peer victimization, or bullying.
Newgent joined the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions in 2001. She earned her doctorate from the University of Akron and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Kent State University.
