UA Early Care & Education Projects

Providing professional development to improve the quality of care and education for young children throughout Arkansas

Introduction to Child Care [ICC] is designed to inform potential caregivers about the options and regulations involved in opening a child care center, becoming a registered or licensed family child care provider or working in a child care center.

Child Care Orientation Training [CCOT] offers basic orientation training for child care workers through a program provided by the University of Arkansas in collaboration with secondary vocational centers, postsecondary vocational technical schools, technical institutes, technical colleges, and community colleges.

Family Child Care Provider [FCCP] is a basic orientation training for family child care providers. It is required for newly licensed and registered providers within the first six months of being licensed or registered. It is also useful for providers who would like a refresher course in the basics of family child care.

Caregiver Certificate [CC] offers professional development training for child caregivers. CC consists of six 15-hour classes which provide in-depth training in specialized areas.

Early Care and Education [ECE] Curriculum Endorsement consists of four classes of indepth content and appropriate practices for three to five year olds.
