Professional Biography:
Miles is the newest member of the higher education program faculty, arriving on campus from her position as director of Student Development and Retention in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Miles brings a variety of experiences to her role as coordinator of the MEd programs, including experience as the coordinator of Student Activities at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, director of Student Activities and Orientation at Curry College in Milton, Mass., and associate director of Campus Programs and Organization at Albion College in Michigan. Miles' teaching and research focus broadly on student affairs administration, specifically dealing with issues of student governance, sub-culture populations, and new student orientation and transition.
Academic Interests and Accomplishments:
Miles has been involved in a number of projects focusing on student leadership development, teaching courses in the Sleight Summer Leadership Academy and leading the Nova Leadership Roundtable Scholars Program. She is an active member of the National Orientation Directors Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
Personal Information:
Dr. Miles is an active community member, participating in a number of civic and philanthropic organizations. She is an avid supporter of the theater and also enjoys international travel.
