Professional Biography:
Roessler received his Ph.D. and M.Ed. from the Claremont Graduate School (Claremont, CA) in the areas of education and psychology. He is a licensed psychologist, certified rehabilitation counselor, and licensed counselor. He is a member of the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association, National Rehabilitation Association, and National Council on Rehabilitation Education. Roessler is a University Professor in the RHRC Department. In 2004, he received two national awards for his teaching (NCRE Distinguished Career in Rehabilitation Education) and research (ARCA James Garrett Distinguished Career Award) contributions to the field of rehabilitation.
Academic Interests and Accomplishments:
Roessler has co-authored two textbooks widely used in graduate education (Foundations of the Vocational Rehabilitation Process and Case Management and Rehabilitation Counseling). He is the co-author of Life-Centered Career Education, which is used in special education programs throughout the country. Roessler has received grant funding for projects developed for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Rehabilitation Services Administration, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, and the Social Security Administration. His research in the areas of employment and multiple sclerosis was recently featured in a special issue of the Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation.
