Professional Biography:
Brent Williams received his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation & Adult, Continuing and Distance Education in 1999 and his M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology in 1994. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Austin College in 1987. Following his master’s degree, Brent worked as the Director of Research for the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center – Dallas and as the Program Coordinator of the National Center for Physical Activity and Disability at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2002 he joined the faculty as Program Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Education and Research Program at the at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
Brent serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Vocational Evaluation and Work
Adjustment. Brent has held leadership positions in professional organizations including of the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA) and the National Council of Rehabilitation Education (NCRE). Brent also holds positions on the board of directors for two local independent living centers as well the Arkansas Governors’ Independent Living Advisory Board.
