Professional Biography:
NeCol Wilson has worked for the University of Arkansas for 6 years and has 12 years of experience in the early childhood field. NeCol received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in Child and Family Development. She received her Master of Science degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Her thesis title was Factors Related to African American Adolescents Substance Abuse and Delinquent Behaviors. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy with a specialization in Disability and Family Policy. NeCol is serving in numerous professional and public service organizations. She presents at professional conferences and has conducted many training classes for child care professionals in Arkansas.
Job Duties:
NeCol is currently a training advisor and curriculum specialist for the two statewide programs for child care professionals: Introduction to Child Care (ICC) and Caregiver Certificate (CC) training programs. ICC is designed to inform potential caregivers about the options and regulations involved in opening a child care center, becoming a registered or licensed family child care provider or working in a child care center. CC was developed for the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education by the University of Arkansas. CC consists six courses: Health & Safety, Creative Activities, Guidance & Behavior Management, Child Development: Birth to Three, Child Development: Three to Five, Child Development: Five to Eight.
