Professional Biography:

Marietta Baltz has worked at the University of Arkansas for 15 years. Marietta received both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in Human Development and Family Sciences. For 22 years, she has been involved in issues related to the care and education of young children in Arkansas. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Arkansas Early Childhood Association. She serves on the state steering committee for the Arkansas Early Childhood Professional Development System and serves as committee chair for the SPECTRUM subcommittee.

Job Duties:

Marietta is currently the training advisor and writer for the statewide Child Care Orientation Training (CCOT) and the Family Child Care Orientation Training (FCCOT) programs. CCOT, a 10-hour training program, and FCCP, an eight-hour training program, were developed for beginning level caregivers who work with young children. These training courses are offered through vocational technical schools and two-year colleges throughout Arkansas and are funded through the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. She serves as a writer and consultant for other levels of training offered through Early Care and Education Projects.
