RHAB 5333 COUNSELING PERSONS WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING 3 credits
Focuses on the application of basic principles underlying all forms of therapeutic interaction to professional counseling practices with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

RHAB 534V SUPERVSD REHAB COUNSELING 1 credit min / 3 credits max
Gives the student practice in counseling under supervision with rehabilitation clients in selected settings and agencies.

RHAB 535V HEARING IMPAIRMENT/HUMAN 3 credits
Focuses on an interdisciplinary study of the impact for profound hearing loss on the educational, psychological, social, and vocational functioning of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.

RHAB 5363 EMPLOYER RELATION PRACT 3 credits
Students address the placement needs of rehabilitation agencies and their clients by implementing the RehabMark approach to employer development. Prerequisite: RHAB 5493.

RHAB 5373 MULTICULTURE/GENDER ISSUE 3 credits
This course examines multicultural and gender issues of importance to rehabilitation practice and research, including study of women and men with disabilities within different minority cultures. The course uses a power analysis and a minority model of disability as a basis for understanding the relationship between disability, gender, race and ethnicity.

RHAB 5403 REHABILITATION COUNSELING 3 credits
Counseling theories and techniques applied to the rehabilitation counseling setting. Includes an experiential component with critical analyses.

RHAB 5413 GROUP COUNSELING 3 credits
This course combines theoretical and experiential components of group counseling in settings unique to the practice of rehabilitation counseling. Prerequisite: rehabilitation counseling or counseling theory.

RHAB 5423 VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION 3 credits
Survey of the philosophy of vocational rehabilitation, including history and legislation.

RHAB 5433 MEDICAL ASPECTS OF DISABILITY 3 credits
Orientation to medical and medically related aspects of various disabling conditions with emphasis on the severely disabled.

RHAB 5443 RHAB CASE MANAGEMENT 3 credits
Counseling process in the rehabilitation setting. Focusing upon effective counseling strategies, representative cases, and effective case management methods.

RHAB 5453 PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECT OF DISABILITY 3 credits
Intensive study of the psychological aspects of adjustment to atypical physique and prolonged handicapping condition.

RHAB 5463 IND LIV & COMM ADJUSTMENT 3 credits
Study of the problems and practices involved in developing and maintaining independent living rehabilitation programs for people who are disabled physically, developmentally, and mentally.

RHAB 5473 JOB PLACEMENT 3 credits
Focuses on placement theory and practice as they apply to persons who experience disabilities. Special attention is given to RehabMark approach.

RHAB 5483 REHAB COUNSELING RESEARCH 3 credits
An in depth examination of rehabilitation research methodology and issues to prepare students to critically evaluate and use rehabilitation counseling research in their professional practice.

RHAB 5493 VOCATIONAL EVAL & ADJUST 3 credits
An in depth examination of theories and techniques related to: evaluation of vocational potential and work adjustment of people with disabilities.

RHAB 568V REHABILITATION RESEARCH 3 credits min/6 credits max
Practical experience under the supervision of a faculty member in conducting rehabilitation research in a laboratory or field setting.

RHAB 6203 DISABILITY POLICY OF US 3 credits
An analysis of public policy approaches to disability in the U.S. Examines the political and philosophical origins of disability policy reviews major disability legislation and its effects on policy stakeholders describes recent initiatives analyzes evolution of disability policy within context of changing societal, economic, and political conditions.

RHAB 6213 ADVANCED PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPS OF DISABILITY 3 credits
A theoretical and applied study of techniques that enable people to cope with 2 major life events: disability and unemployment.

RHAB 6233 EMPLOY PRACT & INTERVEN 3 credits
An intensive study of the employment experiences of workers with disabilities with emphasis on disincentives and barriers to employment and interventions to enable people with disabilities to participate in employment. Prerequisite: RHAB 5493 or equivalent.

RHAB 6243 ADV REHABILITATION RES 3 credits
An advanced doctoral level course to facilitate the application of scientific values, research skills, and behavior to the generation of rehabilitation knowledge and problem solving.

RHAB 625V TEACHING INTERNSHIP 1 credit min / 18 credits max
Graduate teaching experience in the rehabilitation counseling curriculum. Under the supervision of a faculty member, will participate in the development of syllabi, course materials and examinations. Will team teach graduate rehabilitation courses with the faculty member.

RHAB 626V PRACTICUM SUPERVISION 1 credit min / 6 credits max
(Formerly RHAB 6263) The study and practice of supervising master's rehabilitation counseling students in a clinical practicum setting. Prerequisite: doctoral standing

RHAB 675V INTERNSHIP 1 credit min/18 credits max
Advanced supervised practice a rehabilitation setting.

RHAB 699V SEMINAR 1 credit min/18 credits max
Discussion of pertinent topics and issues in the rehabilitation field. Prerequisite: advanced graduate standing.

RHAB 700V DOCTORAL DISSERTATION 1 credit min/18 credits max
Prerequisite: candidacy.
